What Is Hawkins Institute?

Founded in 1995, Hawkins Institute is a private company registered with the Ontario Disability Supports Program/Employment Supports (ODSP/ES) (Ministry of Community and Social Services). Through innovative programs, Hawkins Institute offers practical employment counsel, training and placement for people with Asperger Syndrome (AS) and Learning Disabilities (LD); fostering self-esteem and promise for the future.

A pioneer in its niche, Hawkins Institute is known internationally for its employment services for people with Asperger Syndrome (AS) and Learning Disabilities (LD).

Having identified demand for employment assessment, training and placement among an underserved population, we create and implement specialized programs and support services to address the need. Evolving since 1995, the Company has expanded its services to include private consultation and training in the areas of transit training, interview preparation, employment councelling and employer sensitivity training.

With a mandate to help people with AS and LD realize their goals, Hawkins Institute partners with companies in industries which include retail, food services, warehouse, entertainment , media, pet care and banking/financial services.

Hawkins Institute has been featured in Abilities Magazine, The Toronto Star, CBC's Moving On, and both the City TV and CBC Evening News.

Our clients are self referred, sent to us by professionals in the field of autism, or referred by various agencies including Ontario Disability Support Program, the Geneva Centre for Autism, and the Metro Toronto Autism Society.
